After Action Report of Stalingrad

First off I would like to thank the game organizers, you guys made a great game out of the few people we had. I would also like to thank Apoc for hosting the game and allowing us to use their amazing facility.


Lost Parade had a great experience and got to meet many new people.
Now on too the AAR,

During first phase, Lost Parade was on the German side and was attached to the APC to operate/escort it. We had two members actually in it (Nick and Alex), and two of us escorting it (Seth and Josh). First phase started a little later than we would of liked but it was not too bad. The phase started and we all moved up the rightmost road towards the barn. That was where out attack stalled. Lost Parade could not move up too far and leave the APC exposed, but cover was limited and left us too far back to do anything. We tried to push further up the road but the Russians Panzerfaust was dug in and had the APC ranged perfectly, so we were forced to back up.The game stayed stalled in this position for about 45 minutes until we decided to move the APC to a different road more central to the field. The APC backed up, changed roads and ended up parked next to the radio station. It took us a little while to realize that a Russian was on top of the station, Seth was just about to go grenade it when Reckon charged forward and beat him too it. At this point we were taking heavy fire from a line of bunkers on the left of the radio tower. A couple of Germans made a push and eliminated some of the bunkers. This opened up an opportunity to clear the next obstacle, a land mine a few feet in front of the APC. Seth ran up under covering fire from Josh and Alex in the turret along with a few other Russians. He grabbed the mine and set it on a berm next  to the road in order to render it inert. Unfortunately in the process it rolled off the berm and back on the road. On the second try to remove it Seth was successful. After the mine was moved Nick, Josh and the APC moved up the road and into the farm. A few minutes later the farm was under German control. After Lost Parade took the farmhouse, we moved to the cabin city across from tin city.  We smashed through there defenses and easily took the cabin city. From that position we out flanked the Russians in tin city and they were quickly eliminated.

Next we moved up the road in an effort to get the APC to the airball field to use the mortars stashed there. Alex and the APC along with a few other Germans moved there while the rest of Lost Parade secured the road next to the trenches. We were taking sniper fire from a bunker close to the tower so we decided  to go support the APC. As we were heading over, there was a miscommunication and we backed out and moved to the southern trench entrance. Seth got shot out taking the trenches and Nick/ Josh took his last position. Seth came back from respawn but was cut off and was forced into the trenches by himself. As Seth was stuck in the trenches the rest of Lost Parade including Alex and the APC were shot out. They moved back to respawn to rearm. Seth stayed in the trenches supporting the push on the airball field from his excellent flanking position until he tried to move to the tower and was shot out. Seth then rejoined Lost Parade at the farm respawn and reloaded. Lost Parade then all climbed into the APC and rode to the airball field, we dropped Alex, Nick and Josh off and Seth climbed into the turret. The APC was in the process of making a trench strafing run when we realized the phase was over. We all then regrouped in staging for lunch.

Phase Two.
The Germans were tasked with defending tin city and the cabin city for as long as possible. Lost Parade was presonaly tasked with holding the cabin city and destroy the APC if it chose too move up the road. Seth set up in the front most building to the line and closest to the road, Nick was in the building directly behind Seth, Alex and Josh were in the two buildings on the left side of cabin city. Both Seth and Nick were close to the road because they had anti tank mines. The game started and little contact was met in the first five minutes. Then the tank rolled forward but hovered just out of range of our panzerfaust. A little fire was exchanged but there never was the big assault we expected.  Reckon ran up behind Seth's building and threw about 4 grenades to take out one person, that person must be one of the luckiest alive.  The tank rolled up further and Reckon made a plan to take it out. Some one threw a grenade and then Reckon charged the left side while our panzerfaust man took the shot. The tank was hit and eliminated but  Reckon was killed. The game then calmed down a little bit for Lost Parade but then Nick was killed by a sniper. Shortly after that a charge was made on the left side of cabin city and Josh was killed by a Grenade and Alex was bang killed. Josh respawned and saved Seth by shooting a sniper. Seth was isolated in the front building by himself when the APC rolled back up. Seth tried to grenade the infantry guarding it and throw his mine, but was shot in the process. That point marks the end for Lost Parade in second phase except for Josh who got a bang kill before end ex was called.

Right after phase two was over we walked over to the castle for the tank factory mission. Lost Parade was split up into four fire teams and all went into different entrances. Seth tried to go to the back door but was shot in the back. Nick successfully made his initial assault as did Alex and Josh. Joshes gun was having feeding problems and that rendered him almost useless, he did manage however to get one kill in a tower. Nick and Seth met up under the north tower and cleared the bottom of the keep. They then proceeded to move up to the second story. Nick was killed in this process. Seth and Reckon made several attempts to take the keep but were unsuccessful. Alex was just about to lob a grenade to the very top but the last Russian finally surrendered.

First Event of the Year is Over!

Well Operation Stalingrad and was a amazing success. We got a couple hours of sold footage that I am in the process of editing it.  Look for footage later tomorrow.

Final Preparations for Stalingrad

Well tomorrow is Stalingrad. Tonight we will be be finishing our uniforms and doing a final gear check. In order to be to the field on time we will need to leave by 6am (ugh!). Wish us luck.
